Chios, Samos & Fourni -
Great for a 2- or 3-centre holiday

About the only thing these islands have in common is a view across to Turkey. Only Samos has an airport capable of taking charters so there's no real risk of Martian presence except in easily demarcated small areas of that island; Chios is such a wealthy island of ship-owners that it has never actively invited tourism in the way most islands have - though that is far from saying the islanders are inhospitable; Fourni has begun to think about adding tourism to its traditional activity of fishing and has recently completed a surfaced road along the island's spine, but it remains at heart the fishing village it always was - and the vagaries of the ferries serving it will need to change before it does. Any two, or all three, have hugely contrasting attractions for the discerning traveller.
